The Women in Aviation Australian Chapter (WAI Australia) was recognised as an official chapter of Women in Aviation International on the 8th of January 2015 as registered chapter #113.

 

WAI Australia was registered as an incorporated organisation on the 11th of February 2016. Our registration number is INC1600183.

• Was registered with the Charity Commission on the 30th of November 2017.
• Holds a current ABN: 73 566 106 539 and is registered for GST.
• Is governed by a memorandum of association, constitution and a set of byelaws.

 

The overall governing body of WAI Australia is the National Committee, comprising of Ordinary members, Affiliated Society members, and Corporate members. The National Committee comprises of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Corporate Chair and Education Chair. The National Committee meets on a regular basis to ensure the effective management of the association.

All membership is subject to approval by the National Committee.

WAI Australia has various sub committee members, which cover Scholarships, Mentoring, Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD), and State Chairs.

The National Committee has the power to create additional subcommittee positions as required.
