This Privacy Policy sets out how we handle personal information provided to us, or otherwise collected by us when providing our goods and services (including, but not limited to mentoring, events, scholarships and memberships) to you or when otherwise interacting with you.

In this Privacy Policy, “WAI Australia”, “we”, “us”, “our” refers to Women in Aviation Australian Chapter (ABN 73 566 106 539).

Directly: We collect personal information which you directly provide to us, including through the ‘contact us’ form on our website, when you sign up to our services, request goods or services, subscribe to our marketing publications or when you request our assistance via email or telephone.

From publicly available sources: We collect personal data from publicly available resources such as the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) and professional networking sites such as LinkedIn.

If you give us personal information about other people (like your family members or employees), we rely on you to inform those people that you’re sharing their information with us. Profile Data including your username and password for MemberJungle, information you have shared with our social media platforms, your interests, preferences, feedback, membership, survey and form responses.
Marketing and Communications Data including your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.
Professional data including where you are a volunteer of ours or applying for a role with us, your professional history such as your previous positions and professional experience.

Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information

We may collect, hold, use and transfer personal information for the following purposes:

to enable you to access and use our website, other associated platforms and social media platforms;
to onboard you as a member;
to provide you with our goods and services;
to provide and improve our products and services;
to contact and communicate with you;
to interact with governmental or regulatory bodies or other authorities in relation to you;
for internal record keeping, administrative, invoicing and billing purposes;
for analytics (including profiling on our website), market research and business development, including to operate and improve our website, goods, services and associated social media platforms;

Overview: We may use artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, including those provided by third parties (together, AI Technologies), in our business operations and the provision of our services. We will only use AI Technologies when legally permitted to do so, and where we consider it necessary, expedient or beneficial for our business operations and for the provision of our services.

How we use AI Technologies: We may use AI Technologies for the following purposes:

to support, improve and optimise our services and operations; and
to automate certain processes and communications, including administrative or routine tasks such as notetaking.

Data Protection and Security: Where we use AI Technologies, we will take all reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is handled with due care and diligence and in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We will not directly input your personal information into any AI Technologies.

Your rights and controlling your personal information

Your choice: Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you provide personal information to us, you understand we will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You do not have to provide personal information to us, however, if you do not, it may affect our ability to provide our goods, services and memberships to you and your use of our services.
