Women in Aviation International (WAI) Australian Chapter ("WAI Australia") Terms and Conditions of Use
Use of the WAI Australia website is based on your acceptance without modification of our terms and conditions. Please read these terms and conditions of use carefully before using this site. By using this site, you signify your assent to these terms of use. If you do not agree to these terms of use, please do not use this site, or other websites owned by WAI Australia. WAI Australia reserves the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of these terms at any time. Please check these terms periodically for changes. Your continued use of this site following the posting of changes to these terms means that you accept those changes.
Restrictions on Use of Materials
This site is owned and operated by WAI Australia. No material from this site or any website owned, operated, licensed, or controlled by WAI Australia may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way. Modification of the materials or use of the materials for any other purpose is a violation of our copyright and other proprietary rights.
In the event that you download software from the site, the software, including any files, images, and data (collectively, the “Software”) are licensed to you by WAI Australia. You own the medium on which the Software is recorded, but WAI Australia retains all rights, title, and ownership to the Software. You may not redistribute, sell, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwise reduce the Software.
WAI Australia and the third parties that provide content for the website may make improvements and/or changes to the services, products, programs, and prices described in this website at any time without notice. We encourage our visitors to bring to our attention any erroneous material on our website. WAI Australia reserves the right to change the terms, conditions, and notices under which the WAI Australia website is offered.
Communications
You shall not upload to, distribute through, or otherwise publish through this site any content that is libellous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, illegal, or otherwise objectionable that would constitute or encourage a criminal offence, violate the rights of any party, or otherwise give rise to liability or violates any law. You shall not communicate through this site for any commercial purposes, or solicit, promote, or advertise any goods or services.
Jurisdiction
This site is controlled and administered by WAI Australia. We make no representation that the materials on the website are appropriate or available for use in locations other than Australia. Those who choose to access this site from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, to the extent applicable. Software from this site is further subject to Australian export controls. No software from this site may be downloaded or otherwise exported or re-exported into any country in violation of the laws and regulations of Australia.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia. You agree that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to these terms shall be filed in the state or federal courts applicable, and you hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action.
Use of this site is not authorised in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of the WAI Australia Privacy Policy and these Terms and Conditions of Use.

This website may have inaccuracies or typographical errors. This site is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permissible pursuant to applicable law, WAI Australia disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. WAI Australia does not warrant that the functions contained in the materials will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that this site or the server that makes them available are free of viruses or other harmful components. WAI Australia does not warrant or make any representations regarding the use or the results of the use of the materials on this site in terms of their correctness, accuracy, reliability, or otherwise. You assume the entire cost of all necessary servicing, repair, or correction. Applicable law may not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above exclusion may not apply to you.

Applicable law may not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. In no event will WAI Australia’s liability to you for all damages, losses, and causes of action (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing this site.
Notice and Procedure for Making Claims of Copyright Infringement
Pursuant to the Australian Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), notifications of claimed copyright infringement should be directed to the WAI Australia Board.
To be effective, the notification must be a written communication that includes the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the person authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site;
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material;
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an email address at which the complaining party may be contacted;
- A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Refund Policy
WAI Australia is a registered charity. Our mission is to create inclusive, accessible opportunities for all, and we do not run our events or programs for profit. We understand that circumstances can change, and we will always try to accommodate refund requests wherever possible within the bounds of Australian Consumer Law. Refund policies are outlined below.
- Memberships
- Individual and Corporate Lite Memberships
- WAI Australia will offer a full refund for Individual and Corporate Lite Membership purchases within 21 calendar days of the membership purchase.
- After 21 days, these membership fees are nonrefundable. The membership will remain active until its expiry date.
- Other Corporate Memberships
- Refunds are considered on a case by case basis. Please contact us to discuss your membership.
- Individual and Corporate Lite Memberships
- Event Registrations
- In the event that you can no longer attend an event, refunds and booking changes will be processed in accordance with the following policies.
- A full refund is available if the cancellation notice is received 21 or more calendar days before the event date.
- A 50% refund is available if the cancellation notice is received 8–20 calendar days before the event date.
- WAI Australia can accommodate name changes on your booking at no cost up to 48 hours before the event.
- No refund can be made if the cancellation notice is made within 7 calendar days of the event, or if the purchaser does not attend the event.
- If you are unable to attend, you may choose to donate the cost of your ticket to WAI Australia. The cost of your ticket will go toward supporting scholarships. This option helps WAI Australia continue providing opportunities to those who might not otherwise be able to participate. Requests to donate the cost of your ticket must be received no later than the day prior to the event.
- If WAI Australia cancels or reschedules an event, you may choose a full refund or transfer your registration to a future event.
- In the event that you can no longer attend an event, refunds and booking changes will be processed in accordance with the following policies.
Refunds will not be provided for partial membership periods, unused benefits, separately made donations or after the applicable cancellation period. Third party processing fees (including but not limited to postage, PayPal, or bank fees) are nonrefundable. Certain special events or programs may have their own refund terms, which will be clearly stated at the time of booking.
Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 10 business days. WAI Australia is not responsible for delays caused by your bank or payment provider.
Refund requests must be made in writing through the Contact Us page. Include your full name, purchase/registration date, and order details. If donating your ticket, please clearly state your consent for the donation.
Miscellaneous
If any provision of these terms shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from these terms and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. This is the entire agreement between you and WAI Australia relating to the subject matter herein and shall not be modified except in writing as a posted change made by WAI Australia or in a document signed by both parties.
WAI Australia shall have the right to terminate access to this site immediately with our without notice to you if such termination is necessary for WAI Australia, in its reasonable, good faith judgment, to avoid liability or to prevent a service interruption by the service providers that provide access or other telecommunication services to WAI Australia.
